Sharing with Strangers

One of my favorite things to do in life is to watch the sunset.

Over the years I've realized I share this interest with many other people. strangers if you will. Traveling around the world finding the best sunset spots I have noticed I'm rarely alone. I look around and see all types of people taking in the same sights as me, and I smile. My favorite thing now to do is share these moments with strangers. It's comforting knowing whatever craziness is going on in their lives they stop for a moment to watch the burning sun kiss the waves goodbye. For a moment in time nothing else in the world really matters except the present moment, and that's fucking beautiful.

I was reminded once again about my love for sharing these moments with strangers when I sat and watched people come together for a beach bonfire in Costa Rica. Its known that you can hop on anyones fire and share the warmth. In general there is something so magical about fires on the beach, so magical I decided to get it tatted on me (sorry mom).

Someone walking by might not think twice about seeing strangers come together but let me tell you why it makes me smile. The past few years we have lived in the most chaotic, uncertain times. We have gave up so many human connections and face to face interactions. Technology is only growing and soon who knows what will happen. I've missed these interactions over the past few years during the solitude of covid.

We've all been so scared and full of anxiety.

So now, when I get to observe these little moments.. I am grateful. Grateful for this life, and grateful to be here sharing these moments.

To me, that's what life is about. Each and every one of these memories I take with me. My heart is slowly filling up and I can say.. I'm happy.

So if you ask me "Whats one of your favorite things to do?"

I'll tell you its watching sunsets with strangers.

P.S - Try to never miss a sunset. You never know how many you have left.
